Share your Dreams

I was wondering what people dreamed about when they were kids. I was also wondering if you reached those goals or if they have changed over time. When I was a little girl I always wanted to be the first woman president of the United States. I am still not old enough to do that, but my life has not taken a political path, so we'll see on that one. I have others too, but I want to know if anyone else has any they want to share. (Maybe I don't want to be the only person that didn't achieve her dreams, but I also want to applaud those who have.)

I didn’t have “hopes and dreams” in the sense of attainable goals or accomplishments. I have always wanted to be a Mom. That is my greatest blessing. When I was younger I did have some “husband requirements”. I wanted a guy that would sing to me, would dance with me, loved to surprise me with “little gifts” and he definitely had to take me to black tie affairs. I’m sure glad that as I grew up I realized that my list was a fantasy. Reality is even better! I got a guy who loves me!

I just found your blog when I was looking for local blogs! That column to the left is HYSTERICAL. My kids say funny things all the time but I need to be better at remembering exact conversations. Love the mousse one!

As far as dreams go, I think we all have super big dreams as a kid. If we are lucky we have super big dreams as adults do. I don't look at it so much as not attaining my childhood dreams as much as I would attribute it to those dreams changing as we grow.

So glad I found you!

I always wanted to be a payroll person with Paychex... Wow, to peak at 28!

Just kidding! When I was younger, I wanted to be a cop, always thought that was cool. As I got older, I realized the long hours, and the fact of how unsafe it was and that didn't mesh as well with the family picture I wanted.

Now, I have great respect for cops (most of them, anyway) but realize it wouldn't have been great for me. I'm in awe of the many cops I do know who have wonderful families and have made it work for themselves...

okay, don't tell anyone, but I wanted to be a jockey for a while. I think the closest I came to that was wearing Jockey underwear....

(wow, I don't think I've ever told anyone that!)

New Year Day

Today was a fun day. Mike and I sat the kids down and explained our new chore system and any over our expectations of them. It seemed to go...
